Casino Review

A casino is a facility where people can engage in various types of gambling activities. These include slot machines, table games, and various forms of poker. Many casinos also offer food and beverage services.

The thrill of the games is what draws many players to casinos. The flashing lights and engaging sounds can create an intensely exciting experience. Some of the most popular games are blackjack, roulette, and craps. They require a combination of skill and luck to win.

Unlike the more streamlined Goodfellas, Casino allows its characters to explore their professional and personal lives in greater depth. This results in more complexity and gives the film a greater sense of tragedy when the characters meet their downfall.

Casino is also unique in that it doesn’t shy away from showing the ugly side of Las Vegas. While many films have captured the glitz and glamour of Sin City, few have shown how corrupt the town really is. The movie is a fascinating study of organized crime and it’s sure to speak even to those who don’t enjoy the genre.

Robert De Niro and Sharon Stone both give stellar performances as Sam “Ace” Rothstein and Ginger. Their complicated relationships with one another help to elevate the film above its simple crime drama status. Both actors display great acting range and are able to convey much with just a look or a silence. Casino may not be as flamboyant as other Scorsese films, but it is just as effective.
